Calories in Coffee - Which Coffee Should you be Drinking?

In America, 80% of people drink multiple cups of coffee every day. For people on a weight loss program, the calories in coffee can be a huge concern. If the calories in coffee are more than we were hoping, which coffees have less calories and how can we make them taste good? Read on to find out more about the calories in coffee and what we can do to combat them.

The average cup of Starbucks has over 220 calories in their coffee; not including the whipped cream and flavoring calorie count that's mix in with it. Obviously, when you buy more complex drinks like latte and  mocha's, your going to have a larger calorie count because they are sweeter. If your really trying to lose some weight, I recommend sticking to black coffee with a little splenda. The calorie count of straight black coffee from starbucks is around 30-40. Instant coffees carry even less.

When trying to lose weight by changing daily habits, the calories in coffee aren't the only thing you should worry about. When your thirsty, drink water or health drinks instead of soda and carbonated drinks. Drinking water helps you lose weight as well as making you healthier overall. As I'm sure you've heard before, losing weight is mostly achieved by changing your diet. Use some common sense when choosing beverages.

If your open to branching off your regular coffee brand, there's some great tasting coffees out there designed specifically for your health. Organo Gold makes a ridiculously-good-tasting instant coffee with only 11 calories in coffee. Their latte has 48 calories. Along with the low calorie count, Organo Gold's coffee is infused with over 250 antioxidants designed to provide optimal operation for your metabolism.
